Leon “Skip” Johnson, Chapter Commander
The local Korean War Veterans Chapter continues to stay on track, meeting monthly, with the added continuation of their weekly luncheon schedules attended by many of the club membership. For those who are in need of support, our doors are never closed. The organization has the capability to assist those in need during an unexpected emergency with an assortment of medical equipment, which is updated frequently and maintained in local storage areas close by. For additional details of what’s readily available or a specific need, please don’t hesitate to call the number listed below. The Chapter Commander or somebody from his staff will be happy to help in any way they can, which they already do on a rather frequent basis. This can be for short- or long-term needs—whatever the situation requires.
As we continue to meet new challenges in the new year, which have slowed down the recovery of so many things due largely to the virus, we will soon be entering the second quarter of the new year with hopes that things will move in a more positive direction for those families who went through so much suffering. We wish you all a safe, healthy new year, and please take a moment or two to recognize all those involved in helping us stay safe while sacrificing their own safety at being vulnerable to exposure to the recent medical problems that are presently being experienced.
Meetings for the Korean War Veterans are held monthly on the fourth Wednesday of the month from September through May. Meetings start at 10:30 a.m. and are held in the back room of the IHOP restaurant located on Arizona Avenue in the Target Shopping Center. The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, March 23.
For any additional information regarding any of the above, always feel free to call Leon “Skip” Johnson at 970-481-3005. Let’s all pitch in to make it a year to remember.
