The October meeting of the Sun Lakes Card Makers is planned for Oct. 16 at 1 p.m. in the Arts & Crafts Room of Sun Lakes Country Club. Our regular meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month in Sun Lakes Country Club. Often our members meet at 11:30 a.m. for lunch at the Sun Lakes Grill, but this is optional. Our goal is to share our skills and interests with each other and to improve our individual card making skills.
The themes of Thanksgiving and Halloween will make up our October agenda. Each member takes a month and acts as “teacher of the month” by leading the group and supplying card kits for the other members. This way, members go home each month with two or three new cards ready to mail.
New members are accepted year–round. We are not a group suitable for beginners, and each member is a specialist in some area of card artistry, willing to share their knowledge with the other members. We also produce a calendar each fall for the coming new year, and at Christmas we exchange five handmade cards in a hand-decorated gift bag.
