On Saturday, March 21, 87 ladies were entertained by P.E.O. chapter AF (Chandler and Sun Lakes) for an afternoon benefit BeauTEAque at the home of Chris Sossaman in Queen Creek. A four course tea was provided on the terrace and lawn on a beautiful spring afternoon. The first course was a variety of scones; second, a variety of tea sandwiches; third, plates of sweets; and fourth, chocolate covered strawberries and fudge. All of the goodies were made by members of chapter AF. With each course a different blend of teas was provided by the hostess who blends her own teas. Members of the chapter served the goodies, each wearing a tea themed apron in pink trimmed in lime green. They explained the varieties for each course as plates were offered to the guests.
In addition to the delicious refreshments a raffle was held. The prizes were all tea related items, from tea pots to tea cups and books about tea. Other items such as home made baked items and other tea related items were also for sale.
The tea was a fundraiser for chapter AF. P.E.O. is a philanthropic organization which raises funds to promote the education of under privileged women to assist with their education through loans, grants and scholarships.
