Fall is here, and we welcome the beginning of cooler weather while anticipating the return of our winter friends. At the Desert Artists Club, members work in many mediums: oil, watercolor, acrylics, ink, pastels, pencils, and more. Several members are enjoying rock painting to expand their creative enjoyment and talents. Some have mandala themes, and others are more whimsical; imagination is an endless resource. These treasures make wonderful gifts, and with the holidays ahead of us, it’s nice to get a head start on your projects.
In the past, we have had group trips, art supply swaps, demonstrations by members of a particular technique or medium, and gathered for social time and sharing. We plan to continue these traditions, as they add to the enjoyment of our members and benefit our club. We have no membership dues or regular meetings, just fun and a place to gather with other artists and grow our talents and friendships. Many of our artists volunteer and/or participate in the Art at the Lakes Show and Sale each year, which benefits the Fire Department. Mark your calendars for March 5, 2022, for this great fun and artistic event.
Come to the Cottonwood San Tan Ballroom on Saturday, Oct. 9, from 9 a.m. to noon and visit the DAC table at the CWPV Open House. You can meet and visit members and see some of our art, ask any questions you may have, and see if this club is just what you have been looking for. Our club is open to all artists within any of the three HOAs of Sun Lakes. For further information, you can contact me at [email protected] or call and leave a message at 480-745-2198.
