Our reunion meeting after 18 months was a celebration of our members. We socialized with iced tea and cookies, and had a chance to catch up with our sewing friends. We also welcomed two new members.
After a short business meeting and lots of door prizes, we were treated to a program with many inspiring creations from our members. Members displayed some of the treasures they created during the months of our “COVID hiatus.” Since many of the quilts, purses, and other items had been given away, members shared pictures of those.
Our members are so talented, and we were inspired to learn new techniques and plan to set up some classes with the ideas and projects shared. It was a great get-together and so good to be able to meet in person.
We look forward to our meeting next month with a trunk show presented by Peggy Morris. Peggy is an avid quilter, embroiderer, and purse maker, and will share many of her samples with us. That meeting will be Oct. 13 at 1 p.m., in the Navajo Room at Sun Lakes Country Club. Anyone wanting to come early, at 11:30 a.m., to have lunch in the Sunset Grill before the meeting is welcome to join us then.
Sew-N-Sews meets the second Wednesday of each month in the Navajo Room at Sun Lakes Country Club. Our business meeting starts at 1 p.m. Not a member yet? Join us as a guest. The new member fee is $25, which includes the first-year membership and a Sew-N-Sews name badge. We hope to see you there on Wednesday, Oct. 13.
