We are pleased to announce that Sew-N-Sews will resume general meetings in September, 2021. Our meetings will be held in the Navajo Room of the Sun Lakes Country Club at 1 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month, September through May.
It has been such a long time since we have been able to get together. It will be wonderful to renew friendships and share our stories of our “forced hiatus.” We look forward to an inspirational display of creations from our talented members during Show and Tell.
Sew-N-Sews is a friendly group of sewists, from beginner to experienced and everywhere in between. We share a love of fabric and needle arts. In addition to larger monthly general meetings, we offer classes to our members and have several special interest groups. Our smaller special interest groups share their interest in Beading, Embroidery, Stitch and Chat, and Featherweights.
Our charity groups are as follows:
Pads4Paws, whose dedicated volunteers have made over 7,150 pads for animals, donated mainly to Veterans StandDown.
Dolly Dressers is our oldest group and relies on donations of items such as dolls, beanie babies, children’s books, Hot Wheels cars, and other small toys to do their good work. Thousands of items have been donated to Childhelp, Helen’s Hope Chest, St. Peter’s Indian School, and local schools.
Our Walker Bags project has made bags that are donated to the Veterans Hospital in Phoenix and local assisted living/nursing home residences.
Please mark your calendars for Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2021, at 1 p.m. We look forward to a fun reunion.
