The Sun Lakes Card Makers, a group of experienced card makers, is searching for new members. We have no dues and operate as a learning platform for experienced card makers. If you love making your own greeting cards, please consider joining our group. We meet monthly in the Craft Room of the Phase 1 clubhouse (Sun Lakes Blvd and Riggs Road) on the third Wednesday of each month at 1 p.m. Most months, we also socialize by having lunch together in the restaurant by the library at 11:30 a.m. We love sharing advanced techniques for card making, like die cutting, rubber stamping, using glitter, and coloring with alcohol and water-based pens. Our goal is to advance our own skills and learn new ones. Each month has a theme, taught by a member, and usually we make three cards at the meeting. Our next meeting is on Feb. 16 at 1 p.m. in the Craft Room of the Sun Lakes clubhouse. You can also join us for lunch that day at 11:30 a.m. Drop by and check us out if you love card making. In the past, some of our members have entered their cards in local craft and rubber stamp conventions and have won money and awards. Call or text Johnie Scofield at 602-510-7995 or email her at [email protected] for more information on our group.
