Message from the President
Roger Beagle
December is here, Thanksgiving is over, and we are approaching the end of 2021! Upcoming events for our Cottonwood Palo Verde community include the Golf Cart Parade, holiday concerts and shows, as well as friends and family gatherings.
What a great time of the year! Please be safe when putting up your holiday lights and decorations that brighten our neighborhoods.
Congratulations are in order for our new managers. Jean Jones is our new Recreation Manager, and Josh Blackburn is the new Cottonwood Palo Verde Food and Beverage Manager. When you see them, say congratulations and wish them the best.
We will soon see the opening of the Computer Learning Center (aka old Fitness Center) with multi-purpose meeting rooms, a lecture hall, and new bathrooms. Construction delays are due to previous damage to trusses and the roof. These were not discovered until we opened up the walls and ceilings during construction. Repairs and updates have been made.
The Palo Verde and Cottonwood restaurants are much busier due to homeowners returning. The greenbelts, golf courses, Fitness Center, and tennis and pickleball courts are also busier than just a month ago. It is great to see everyone enjoying our amenities.
Please continue to enjoy yourselves when using our facilities, and remember to be respectful of others. Remember to keep your dog on a leash, say hello to everyone, and enjoy your neighbors.
If you are traveling for the holidays, please continue to stay safe and healthy!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!

Free Annual Christmas Golf Cart Parade and Show
It’s never too early to think about the annual Christmas Golf Cart Parade and Show. Friday, Dec. 3, is the special day. We start at Palo Verde at 5 p.m. for free hot turkey soup, crackers, and drinks. There will also be the judging of the golf carts, and Maddy Pascal will be there to lead us all in Christmas songs. Mr. & Mrs. Claus and all the gang will be on hand for some great photos. About 6:15 p.m. the parade of golf carts and cars will make their way to Cottonwood’s San Tan Ballroom for our 7 p.m. Christmas Show. There you will be treated to cookies, hot coffee, cocoa, and apple cider. All Sun Lakes homeowners and guests are invited. This is Cottonwood and Palo Verde’s Christmas gift to the community.
Rover’s Rest Stop
Rover’s Rest Stop is back with us again! Dee will be bringing some very adorable, furry little friends who are dying to find themselves a forever home, and they deserve that. Please come check out these Kids, as she always refers to them, on the second Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. to noon. On really hot, cold, or rainy days, they’ll be in Cottonwood’s A-6 Dance Room. On nice days, they’ll be at the greenbelt across from the Cottonwood tennis courts. Dee takes great care in matching the perfect little dog with the perfect family!
13th Annual Art At The Lakes Show and Sale
The committee and our fire department are starting to make plans for our 13th Annual Art At The Lakes Show and Sale.
