“Israel; A Nation and its People” is the title of a two-part series presented by the Adult Education and the Friends of Israel Committees in co-sponsorship with the East Valley Jewish Community Center.
Strong supporters of Israel have found that many in the American media have a bias against Israel, particularly related to the longstanding Israel Palestinian conflict. Since the Hamas atrocities on Oct. 7, the bias has become more intense, with an alarming rise in antisemitism. The goal of this series is to present basic facts about Israel, its history, and current situations from knowledgeable and authoritative speakers.
On Sept. 8 at 2 p.m. Rabbi Michael Beyo, the CEO of the East Valley Jewish Community Center, will speak on “Israel and its inhabitants. A journey of centuries.”
A published author and compelling speaker, Rabbi Beyo has shared his insights as a guest lecturer at numerous colleges and universities. Deeply committed to community service, Rabbi Beyo actively engages in interfaith dialogue and serves on various local and international organizations.
On Oct. 27 at 2 p.m. Mr. Gil Hoffman, executive director of Honest Reporting from Israel, will speak on “Peace, Politics, and Propaganda: An Insider’s Look at the Fight for Israel on the Military and Media Battlefields.”
Mr. Hoffman is a lecturer on political strategy at Israel’s College of Management and served for 24 years as chief political correspondent and analyst for The Jerusalem Post where he is now a regular columnist. The Algemeiner website recently named him one of the top 100 people positively influencing Jewish life, alongside presidents, prime ministers, and Jewish leaders.
