The Sun Lakes Keyboard Connection just concluded their fourth season playing recently a 30-minute program as the pre-brunch music for Sun Lakes Women’s Connection. Their program included numbers from classics to Broadway to showtunes and more.
The director, Jeanette Cline, assigns various instrument sounds to each number, thus making an orchestra for a Broadway showtune, steel band for a calypso number, a strings group for the classics piece, “Canon in D” or a Big Band sound of brass and woodwinds for “Alexander’s Rag Time Band.”
The group is made up of local gals with various levels of background in playing piano or keyboard, from beginner to advanced. They range in ages from 58 to 87.
The Keyboard Connection will resume their weekly rehearsals in September.
