If you missed the great Jazz Showcase at the Chandler Center for the Arts in February, featuring Jermaine Lockhart, you have one more chance to hear this great saxophonist at this year’s annual African American Association of Sun Lakes Jazz in the Park on Saturday, April 16, at Tumbleweed Park/McDowell Pavilion, at 745 E. Germann Road, in Chandler.
Jazz in the Park is one of A.A.A.S.L.’s signature events. It brings together members and friends from all over the Valley who enjoy socializing, meeting new people, breaking bread, and listening to good music outdoors on a beautiful day. This is an event you won’t want to miss! Catering will be by Famous Dave’s.
There are no door sales for this event. All admissions must be prepaid. For more information, contact Sonda at [email protected].
A.A.A.S.L. was founded Sept. 1, 2001, by a small group residing in Sun Lakes, Ariz., who wanted to connect, both culturally and socially, with others having like interests and backgrounds. As a group, one of their goals was to proudly showcase and share the African American culture with other Sun Lakes residents, thereby achieving cross-cultural enrichment, which is so needed in today’s world. A.A.A.S.L. is a non-profit organization with the objective of bringing together, in a spirit of fellowship, individuals residing in Sun Lakes and within a 100-mile radius of Sun Lakes. Anyone who would like to join can send a check for $20 (dues are $20 per person per year). Print your full name, email address, and phone number and mail to P.O. Box 13114, Chandler Ocotillo Station, Chandler, AZ 85248.
No alcohol is permitted at Tumbleweed Park.
COVID-19 vaccination cards will be required for admission to the event.
