In support of the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, Hawthorn Court, an award-winning memory care community in Ahwatukee, is hosting a free memory screening event on Monday, November 2 from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. This free 10-minute memory screening can be the first step toward early identification of potential memory problems. Designed to eliminate the stigma and fears associated with dementia, memory screening can help reassure you of the normal aging process or encourage those with memory issues to follow up with an exam by a physician or other qualified healthcare professional for an accurate diagnosis and treatment. A screening consists of a series of questions and/or tasks designed to test memory, language skills, thinking ability and other intellectual functions. Think of it like any other routine screening – a check-up for your memory.
