Feeling up to some “southern hospitality?”
Sun Lakes Community Theatre’s spring play Southern Hospitality, written by Jones, Hope and Wooten, has been cast and is preparing for a March opening.
The ambitious production features eight women and five men and is a comedy/farce.
Characters and the actors who play them are as follows: Geneva Musgrave, played by Merrie Crawford; Honey Raye Futrelle, played by Ginger Henry; Gina Jo (G.J.), played by MaryEllen Buckwold; Rhonda Lynn Lampley, played by Phyllis Novy; Twink Futrelle, played by Andrea Hummel; Justin Waverly, played by Michael Carter; John Curtis Buntner, played by Ted Peck; Dub Dubberly, played by Michael O’Rourke; Frankie Futrelle Dubberly, played by Janine Schneck; Raynerd Chisum, played by Harlie Youngblood; Iney Dubberly, played by Sandy Ilsen; D. Dayva Davidson, played by Sharon Guzman; and Buck Strickland, played by John Crawford. The play will be directed by Howard Hummel with Ted Peck as assistant director and Roxy Banta as producer.
Tickets will go on sale February 16 in Cottonwood on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in the Saguaro Room lobby, Thursday in IronOaks and Friday in Sun Lakes Country Club. Dinners will be available for purchase for Tuesday through Friday nights.
The spring show will finish out the four-play SLCT 2014-2015 season and will be performed at the main stage in Cottonwood. The 2015-2016 season will be announced soon.
