The seventh annual Crystal Awards Dinner and Ceremony was held at the Oakwood Country Club on Sunday, March 6. The year 2010 was the first awards dinner held, giving thanks of appreciation, recognition and honors to outstanding residents known for their volunteerism within the Sun Lakes community areas.

Each year, Sun Lakes residents are asked to take time to make note of the outstanding volunteerism of our residents for the betterment of our community. We have many residents who fit into that category – outstanding!

This year we have five wonderful honorees, selected from the many nominations received. Those named this year are Doti Breyen, Charlene Petragallo, Bobbie Reed, Kathy Skreil and Eleanor Woodman. All of these recipients deserve a standing ovation for their extreme degree of volunteer effort.

A delicious dinner was served to the honorees and guests in the Oakwood Ballroom followed by presentation of the Crystal Awards to each of the honorees by Nancy Pannebecker.

The guest speaker was Dr. Madeline Paschal, a very talented lady who is an author and a singer with a beautiful voice. Dr. Paschal is a member of Genesis House Shelter and Hands of a Friend.
