The month of December was a fun end to 2017 for the ladies of the Palo Verde Ladies Golf Association (PVLGA). Read on…
12/05. Front Nine. Only the scores on the front nine holes of the course counted toward the score, although 18 holes were played. The winners were Flight 1: Cindy Bosch (26), Dee Monsonis (27) and Rachel Rainville (29.5); Flight 2: Linda Brock (26.5), Susan Lamb (27.5) and Vallerie Verbeck (28); Flight 3: Jo Crook (25), Diane Kruse (27) and Zara Logan and Mary Martz (tied – 28.5); Flight 4: Christine Lecoutre (25.5) and Dee Czaja and Jan Stuckey (tied – 28.5); Flight 5: Kathy Jones (26.5), Wanda Wiggins (29.5) and Marj Rasmussen (30).
The luckiest lady of the day was Christine Lecoutre who shot a hole-in-one on the 6th hole. Not only did she get an “ace,” but it helped her win the Front Nine in her flight. Congratulations, Christine!
12/12. Step-a-Side Scramble. A fun event was chosen to play for the Christmas Luncheon tournament. Whoever’s ball was selected to be played could not play the next shot. The winning teams were: 1st Bobbi Forbes, Carol Healy, Patti Hegenbarth and Kathy Ivesdal (38.5); 2nd Jo Crook, Nancy Gehlbach, Kathy Koon and Wanda Wiggins (38.75); 3rd Cindy Bosch, Jo Ann Hegel, Elaine Isaacson and Shirley Trusal (39.25). Good job, Ladies!
12/19. Ladies Choice. Even though 18 holes were played, only nine holes counted toward the final score. The nine holes chosen had to be selected before play began, kind of like Christmas shopping. The winners were Flight 1: Carole Guild (24), Bonnie Moore (26.5) and Cindy Ryan (27.5); Flight 2: Jan Nelson (25), Diane Kruse (25.5) and Sharon Eisenzimmer and Florence Wright (tied – 27); Flight 3: Kathy Ivesdal (25.5), Ginger Mays (26.5) and Elaine Isaacson (27.5); Flight 4: Bonnie Kane (25.5), Wanda Wiggins (27.5) and Dee Czaja (28).
12/26. Best Nine Holes. Each player chose the “best nine” holes of the 18 they golfed. The holes chosen, minus half of their handicap, determined who won. The winners were Flight 1: Carole Guild (17), Diane Kruse (18.5) and Sherri Butler, Terry Gaube and Jan Nelson (tied – 20); Flight 2: Anita Hopkins (16), followed by Sharon Eisenzimmer, Jerry Jordan and Lynnette Liffrig (tied – 18); Flight 3: Janet Baron (16), Carole Elliott (17.5) and Kathy Jones (18). You made some great choices, Ladies! Good luck to the PVLGA Board. We know you will make 2018 a great year for us!
