The Sun Lakes Card Makers will hold their next meeting on Aug. 21 at 1 p.m. in the Arts & Crafts Room of Sun Lakes Phase 1. Our meetings are held year round on the third Wednesday of each month, and we often have lunch together on meeting days at 11:30 a.m. All makers of greeting cards are welcome to attend. We have no dues. Our goal is to advance our personal skills and explore new skill areas. Our members embrace an “each one, teach one” philosophy, as we encourage each other to become more skilled in creating greeting cards. Area lovers of card making are welcome to attend our meetings and consider joining our group.
Each year we produce a calendar for the following year, and we exchange five of our best cards in a decorated gift bag at our Christmas lunch. Each member takes a meeting as lead “teacher of the month” and brings two or three card kits for the other members to assemble and take home. We have a lot of fun each month.
