Bruce McCorkle

New Rules Chairman

Jerry Behm is the new MOGA Rules Chairman, with Doug Stodgel backing him up. Their roles are reversed in IMGA. Jerry and his wife Sharon moved to Ironwood in March of 2024. As a retired Special Ed math teacher and high school golf coach, a Certified Rules Official with the Arizona Rules Committee, 15 years as an on-course Rules Official with the Junior Golf Association of Arizona, has organized and conducted Rules Clinics for high school and junior golfers in Northern Arizona, he “brings a lot to the table”! Thank you, Jerry, for sharing your time and talent with MOGA!

Ron Dodd, President

Ron is pleased to announce that the Christmas Party will be held on Friday, Dec. 13.

There will be several board openings in 2025. Among them will be the all-important tournament chair. Mark Nilsen has been instrumental in “dragging us into the 21st century,” and he will be passing the torch on to someone else. It could be you. If you would like to sit in on a board meeting to find out more, you are invited. The next meeting will be on Oct. 1 in the Oakwood Library at 8 a.m. (free donuts).

Ken Gaylord, Treasurer

Thanks to the automation of tasks in financial and tournament management, the amount of paperwork required to run MOGA has been significantly reduced!

Mark Nilsen, Tournament Director

The Club Championship three-round tournament will consist of three divisions: Under 70 (blue tees), 70-79, and 80+.

Bruce McCorkle, Publicity

Bruce will take pictures over the next few months and update the online MOGA Photo Album.
