Annual Eat, Drink And Be Merry Fundraising Gala Planned

The fourth annual Fun Walk was held on Nov. 2. It was a blast! Over 200 people attended! Participants were able to choose a walk that suited their personal activity level. There were three flights: one-half mile, one mile and 2.7 miles. The Fun Walkers were also able to enjoy the Kick-off Party the evening before the Fun Walk with great snacks and plenty of door prizes. The CWPV Foundation wants to thank all the wonderful volunteers and the Recreation Department staff of the Cottonwood Palo Verde HOA for all their efforts in making this Sun Lakes-wide event another success!

The Big One is coming soon. You’ll want to mark your calendars for Thursday, Dec. 19, 2019, and make plans with your friends to attend the annual Eat, Drink And Be Merry Fundraising Gala for the CWPV Foundation! The Dinner-Dance and Fundraising Gala will be held in the San Tan Ballroom. Tickets can be purchased now at the CWPV HOA Homeowner Services office for only $25 per person. The buffet dinner will feature prime rib, mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, green salad with rolls and butter, and bread pudding with bourbon caramel sauce! Is your mouth watering yet? Entertainment for the Fundraising Gala will be provided by the accomplished and versatile Campbell Band!

The Cottonwood Palo Verde Foundation members will be selling tickets this evening for the spectacular themed-basket raffle. We had three tables last year filled with tremendous baskets… featuring wine, margaritas, booze assortments, golf supplies, a new golf bag, chocolate and other dessert items, cheeses, and even cleaning supplies! We’re planning to be bigger and better this year! All the proceeds from the basket-raffle and from your donations at the event will benefit the Cottonwood Palo Verde Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charity. The money you donate to the Foundation supports numerous volunteer organizations which endeavor to enhance the lives of our older population in Sun Lakes and the East Valley.

The most recent recipient of CWPV Foundation Grant is Desert Threads, a chapter of the Arizona Quilters Guild. This is a non-profit group of creative local ladies who make quilts to donate to U.S. veterans transitioning from temporary to permanent housing. They have also benefited Neighbors Who Care and sponsor a Quilt Show each February.

The Foundation’s 50/50 Fundraising Raffles will be held at two TAD shows in November: Chicago on Nov. 12 and Vox Fortura on Nov. 19. The TAD shows are held in the San Tan Ballroom at Cottonwood Country Club at 7 p.m. No 50/50 raffles will be held in December.
