Charge up your metal detectors

Virginia Koehler

The Sun Lakes Metal Lokators Club will resume its meetings beginning Monday, October 10. Make sure your metal detectors have good batteries. Alternatively, you could research a kids metal detector if you plan on bringing your little one with you! Stop by the Metal Lokators’s table at one of the annual Activities Open Houses and get information about our metal detecting club. We meet the second Monday of every month October through April. Most meetings are held at 1:00 p.m. in the Friendship Room of the Sun Lakes Country Club. Dues are $15 per person per year. Everyone is welcome to join us to see if this is an activity you would like to do.

If you have no metal detector and would like to try one out, you may come to one of our monthly hunts and use the club’s detector. After all, we wouldn’t want anyone to miss out on the chance of a little treasure hunting, especially if they’re keen to the idea! That’s why the club was set up to begin with. Even if all we find is mundane, it still sparks the imagination. And you never know – it may just be the day that something amazing is unearthed.

Anyone having lost a metal object of value to them is welcome to contact the Lokators Club and have our members search for your item. Contact our club Treasurer Virginia Koehler at 480-883-9672.
