It’s time for Valentine’s Day, but the Sun Lakes Pickleball Club Cottonwood wants everyone to know what a great and giving time they had at their December ‘Tis the Season Pickleball Social. It was an all-day affair with outrageous holiday outfits and loads of fun on the courts. It was worth a trip to the courts just to see what everyone was wearing! There were decorations on the courts, Christmas songs, eggnog, hot cider, cookies and candy and things Santa might be expecting to snack on when he delivers presents, and even the cutest little Christmas elf! Because it was a social and a time for collecting toys, the winners received a token box of holiday chocolates. But the real winners were the kids who received the toys donated by the club members. After the social, they were taken to the Sun Lakes Fire Department at Alma School and Riggs Road who saw the appropriate children received them. And, oh, we delivered some of the our many cookies and other treats to our dedicated fire fighters to enjoy too.

Thanks to all the participants for being brave enough to wear some of those outfits, but mostly thank you all for your generous hearts and making some child’s Christmas a little nicer.
