Cheers members met at Sun Lakes Country Club for the quarterly birthday party for the November, January and February birthdays. Marjean Scheele and her great group of helpers set up the Navajo Room in a Super Bowl theme – nice work! Anyone watch the game? What a finish, eh? Dinner was served by the staff at the Country Club; of course birthday cake and ice cream for dessert topped off the evening of fun and laughter.

Ginny Marr let the annual General Meeting after the dinner, thanking all who give time and talent to our group during the year. It takes volunteers to chair and organize our events; thanks to everyone who give their time and effort to make this such a great singles club. At last count we have 222 members in the group; each month we seem to gain members at our social meetings. How nice to see new members enjoying the club and all the activities we have on a monthly basis. Weekly socials at the Oakwood Country Club lounge are held every Thursday at 4:00 p.m. There’s a welcome table for you to ask questions and a bulletin board to see the upcoming events for you to attend. Membership is $20 yearly; see the welcome table for registration forms. We’re open to all single residents of Sun Lakes, Springfield and SunBird.
