Cheers socials have moved to a new location – now we meet at the Oakwood Poolside Café each Thursday at 4:00 p.m., the usual time but with Mike still serving us at the bar it’s still the same group of singles having fun every Thursday. The attendance at the first change of location (according to our official counter Keith Knople) was near 75 members; what a great turnout! We now have more space and the room to ourselves which is also a plus. President Ginny Marr doesn’t even have to stand up on a chair when she makes her announcements to the group at Poolside! It’s an easy walk over to the Oakwood Clubhouse from Poolside to enjoy the buffets which started June 11. The $12 buffet and music is featured each Thursday evening. This makes for a pleasant evening dining with friends.

Cheers Singles Club is open to all residents who live in Sun Lakes, Springfield and SunBird. If you’re unable to attend one of our socials call Ginny Marr at 883-0600 or Richard Lewin at 525-3630 for information about joining this fun singles club. At the social we also have a welcome table where you can find information about the club and check our bulletin board to see some of the fun things we have coming up for the summer.
