Choose the Right Side

Margaret Crusoe

Have you ever wanted to learn to draw or paint, or do you need to refresh your artistic skills? Learn to use the right side of your brain to draw and paint for pleasure. In 1979, Betty Edwards wrote Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain. Her principles dramatically improved her art students’ drawings. Then in 1999, she wrote The New Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain which included new research on how our brains process visual information.

Using many of her principles, I give private lessons in drawing and painting with watercolors and acrylics. I also draw on my 30 years in the education field and in retail art sales. My students have learned to see the world in a whole new way. Some have reconnected with a childhood hobby. Others have become more confident in mixing colors or in their drawing ability.

All lessons take place in my home in Phase 1 of Sun Lakes. The cost for four one-and-one-half-hour lessons is $150.00. This fee is non-refundable and due the Friday before the first lesson. We will meet on Mondays from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m., October 1, 8, 15 and 22. I limit my instruction to no more than three at a time. Wednesday morning lessons will be considered if there is a need. Materials are purchased separately with a list that I provide. Payments can be mailed or you can make arrangements to drop them off; cash or checks only, please.
