Chordaires welcomes new director

Sandy Bocynesky

Marc Gaston will be directing the Chordaires Show Chorus, and we are so excited to welcome him! He has over 30 years of musical experience in the multi-faceted arenas of performance and production. Mr. Gaston brings extensive knowledge to the chorus, having directed in both church and community choral and arts programs which have included orchestra/band, bell choir, children/youth and adult programs. He has been the Executive and Artistic Director for over 15 years for the Grand Canyon Performing Arts. Some of you are already familiar with how talented a director he is if you’ve heard the Phoenix Metropolitan Men’s Chorus perform. And that is just one of the many groups he’s directed.

With the year just beginning, we are looking forward to having our barbershop a cappella-style of music be directed by him. Again this year, we will be doing a Christmas performance on December 10 at Sun Lakes Country Club at 4:00 p.m. and are excited about both the new music being added to the repertoire and the style and direction we will get from Mr. Gaston. And we think you will be, too, when you hear us sing. So, mark your calendars now for our December performance as we sing in the holidays.

If singing is something you enjoy, why not think about giving us a call. Chordaires is a dynamic all-women’s chorus comprised of ladies who love to sing and have fun. And our voices bring joy to others which makes it all worthwhile. We rehearse in the Mirror Room at SLCC on Thursdays from 1:00-3:30 p.m. beginning October 5.
