The Sun Lakes United Methodist Church “Krafters” invite you to join them on Monday mornings from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., where they will be assembling a variety of projects in preparation for their Nov. 2 annual Holiday Showcase Bazaar. This fundraiser benefits not only the church, but the community as well. Chair spokesman Darby Carmer reports the Bazaar has generated over $300,000 in past years, paying for covered parking outside the Educational building, which hosts a variety of community support groups and services.
The Krafters’ spacious, well-stocked workroom has cabinets lining the walls from floor to ceiling with supplies and tools for a variety of projects. Darby explains that she or a team member will teach you how to do a project, or you can bring your own project to work on. You can stay as long as you like or take projects home to finish. Bring a sack lunch and join the group for social time!
Seasonal and holiday projects include table and door decorations, home décor, aprons, and items for pets. The Krafters also repair or repurpose donated jewelry, which is displayed all year in the church’s Lindsay Hall. Darby adds the group will accept donated fabric and crafting items at any time.
Contact Darby Carmer at [email protected] or the church office at 480-895-8766 for any further information. Hope to see you there!
