New members Ken and Glenda Roberts attended last April’s Set the Night to Music Gala. We enjoyed meeting them and are looking forward to sharing the dance experiences of this season with them. Ken and Glenda had come to several dances as guests before joining as members. This is a wonderful way of acquainting yourselves with the club and building relationships with like-minded folks.

One of our dance studio sponsors is Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Chandler. This is their third season as a Cotillion Dance Club sponsor. We appreciate their continued service. The first group lesson for this season featured Rumba. The Fred Astaire instructors were terrific. Two dance instructors attend our dances, and you can dance with them. This provides students with a chance to use what they learned and build some confidence on the dance floor.

The next group dance lesson will feature the Cha Cha. Mark November 16 at 10:00 a.m. in the Oakwood dance studio on your calendar. All residents of the Sun Lakes communities are welcome to attend our club’s group dance lessons. The dance lessons are being held in the Oakwood dance studio. The Saturday, November 18, 2017, dance will be A Sparkling Soiree. This will be a formal affair. The Messengers will be presenting a themed performance in the style of a Chicago show band. Be sure to mark your calendars. Guest seating will undoubtedly be limited, so register early. The chef is preparing special hors d’oeuvres served with champagne, and Bob Messenger will be providing instrumental background music for the reception. “The chicken marsala with mushroom sauce, the Yankee pot roast with gravy and the apple cobbler dessert will be terrific,” according to Lily, our head chef. These entrees received wonderful reviews last season.
