Lord and Lady Nelson are presented at the Downton Abbey Cotillion Dinner-Dance.

Members of the Cotillion Dance Club celebrated the popular PBS series, Downton Abbey, at their November event. The theme was carried throughout the evening as the “Lords” and the “Ladies” were presented and welcomed by the Cotillion board members Larry and Pat Wolfe, Rob and Shirley Spade, John and Judy Ferrin, Larry and Jan Ott, Fred and Linda Smith and Joel Goldman. The guests were seated by members Adriane Goldman and Ruth Lavin.

The Oakwood Ballroom was decorated with tables of white linens and chair covers highlighted with silver candelabras. Prior to dancing to the music of Route 66, attendees dined on their choices of English beef roast, encrusted cod or butternut squash ravioli, with potatoes and English peas. The true delight was a perfect rendition of English bread pudding.

Members are very excited about the upcoming dance to be held January 10, 2015. The theme for the evening, “Moonlight Serenade” with music provided by the 19-piece orchestra, Sonoran Serenade, will be the ideal way to continue to welcome in the New Year.

The Cotillion dinner dances are for members and their guests. Dances are held on the second Saturday of each month from October to April with the exception of December. April and October are the only two dances that are not black tie events.
