The photo depicts Wendell and Linda Harris entering last season’s Moonlight Serenade Black and White Ball. Linda and Wendell have been married for 41 years. They are both from Chillicothe, Missouri and spent their entire life in and around Kansas City, Missouri prior to semi-retirement and moving to Sun Lakes, Arizona. They have three children, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Linda and Wendell enjoy frequent short vacations, ballroom dancing and their French bulldog. Linda likes sewing and entertaining. Wendell likes working part-time, repair and maintenance projects around the house, target shooting and reloading, barbecuing and reading. They have volunteered to serve on the board beginning in the 2015 season as our new treasurer. Wendell has used his CPA skills and experience to assist the club in maintaining its tax exempt status and navigating the IRS regulation waters. Please extend them your appreciation personally at your first opportunity.

We are excited to be offering group dance lessons to members and their guests this season. The first lesson was a great success. The next dance lesson is scheduled for 10:00 a.m.-noon in the Oakwood Ballroom on November 13. The featured dance steps will be the waltz and rhumba with a brief recap of the cha cha. The fee is $10 per couple. Our instructors for this lesson will be provided by Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Chandler. You can include the fee in your November dance RSVP payment or you can pay at the door. Guest dance couples are welcome. Look forward to seeing many of you there!

The invitations have been mailed for Live and Let’s Dance inspired by Ian Fleming’s 007 character. The Messengers Show Band will create an exciting mood for the first formal dinner dance of the season. Doors open in the Oakwood Ballroom on November 14 at 6:00 p.m. with cocktails. Dinner service begins at 7:00 p.m. The online RSVP process is now available. You can now send your dance ticket payments via Paypal (no fees). See our website for details. Please return your RSVP as soon as possible.

Lots of information is available to you on the website. A new feature lets members see the table and seating assignments created by the online RSVP process – cool stuff!
