Cotillion “Falling” Into Step

Pat Wolfe

The Cotillion Dance Club opened the 2014-2015 season dancing to the music of Route 66. Following the theme “Shades of Autumn,” the Oakwood Ballroom was a reminder of the beautiful colors of fall. The entryway and ivory covered tables were decorated with colorful leaves and candles. The ivory covered chairs were accented with brown chair bands.

The evening started with 140 members and guests dining on delicious butternut squash soup, followed by their choice of roasted pork loin with apple demi-glaze, herb roasted chicken with fig sauce or roasted Portobello with basil sauce. The finishing touch was Chef Mark’s presentation of Apple Crepe Flambé.

The theme for the club’s next black tie event on Saturday, November 8 is “Return to Downton Abbey.” Cocktails begin at 6:00 p.m. with dinner and dancing to the music of Route 66 beginning at  7:00 p.m.

There are still a few openings for memberships and guests are always welcome. Dances are held on the second Saturday of each month from October to April with the exception of December. The October and April events are semi-formal while the remaining four dinner-dances are black tie events.
