DAR to hear from retired Army Colonel Bill Reeder

Carole Jones

In commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War, the Gila Butte Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution is pleased to announce our guest speaker William Reeder, Jr., Ph.D., of Seabrook, Washington. Bill Reeder is a retired Army Colonel and highly-decorated combat veteran of the Vietnam War who served two tours in Vietnam. He was shot down twice; the first time over Laos in 1969 while flying reconnaissance missions deep behind enemy lines. His rescue was a close call. The second was during his next tour of duty while flying Cobra gunships in one of the fiercest battles in Vietnam’s Central Highlands in 1972. Badly wounded, he evaded the enemy for three days before being captured and spending nearly a year as a prisoner of war.

Please join us as we honor veterans from all branches of the service on Tuesday, April 11, at 10:00 a.m. at Sun Lakes Country Club in the Navajo Room.
