Desert Rivers Audubon and the Sun Lakes Connection

The speaker for the April meeting of the Desert Rivers Audubon is Lisa McKnight. Lisa is an attorney who assists clients with habitat conservation plans and protecting habitat of protected species. Lisa focuses on environmental and natural resources law. The Topic for the April meeting at the Gilbert Library is “Inside the Legalities of the Endangered Species Act.” Her mother is Sally McKnight, a longtime resident of Sun Lakes.

Sally, Lisa’s Mother, is a birder and has participated in the rescue of a Great Blue Heron here in Sun Lakes and has worked as a volunteer for the Tour de Bird annual garden show.

This timely topic, the Endangered Species Act, will be presented at the monthly meeting at 7:00 p.m. at the Gilbert Library. This will be the last meeting of the Desert Rivers Audubon Society until October. Bird walks will be offered on April 7 at the Veterans Oasis Park in Chandler and April 21 at the Gilbert Water Park, 8:00 a.m. to noon. For more information, see www.desertriversaudubon.org.
