The Sun Lakes Garden Club meets all year on the third Tuesday of the month. Members are staying connected through monthly live ZOOM computer meetings, virtual field trips, and a 10-page monthly newsletter with photos of members’ gardens and activities. Newsletters are available to the public at SunLakesGardenClub.org.

On July 21, members will be treated to a private tour of Desert Sage Herbs in Chandler. A video tour will be filmed at the shop with the owner and clinical herbalist Brittney Sounart, followed by a live Zoom Q&A. Members will learn the many uses of herbs in tinctures, essential oils, aromatherapies, and what the practitioners offer for treatments and consultations.

A charming little house was converted into this herb shop on Alma School Road over 20 years ago.

Members are welcome from any city and any level of gardening experience.

Club memberships are $20 per year, and a spouse or second member in the household is only $10 per year. We hope “live meetings” will resume soon. Meetings will resume at the Chapel Center (next door to the Sun Lakes All Faiths Community Church). It’s at 9230 E. Sun Lakes Blvd. N., across the street from the Sun Lakes Country Club. Live meetings start at 9:30 a.m. with refreshments and socializing, and the Zoom meetings start at 10 a.m.
