Bridge for the True Beginner. Classes are on Wednesday mornings from 9:30 to 11:45 a.m. for five weeks, Jan. 22 through Feb. 12. Tuition is $60 plus texts, available at a discount from the instructor. This is an introduction to the game of bridge, including opening bids and responses, as well as playing the hand. Refresher Bridge. Classes are on Wednesday mornings from 9:30 to 11:45 a.m. for six weeks, Feb. 12 through March 26. Tuition is $72 plus texts, available at a discount from the instructor. Review modern opening bids and responses, including conventions used with No Trump openings and slam bidding, and suggestions for declarer play and bidding in competition. Beginner Bridge Plus. Classes are on Wednesday mornings from 9:30 to 11:45 a.m. for nine weeks, Jan. 22 through March 26. Tuition is $108 plus texts, available at a discount from the instructor. A combination of bridge for the True Beginner and Refresher Bridge. Pre-registration is required by Jan. 15 with a $20 non-refundable deposit, which will be applied to the tuition. Competitive Bidding. Classes are on Wednesday afternoons from 1 to 3 p.m. for six weeks, Jan. 22 through Feb. 26. Tuition is $72 plus text, available at a discount through the instructor. Covers weak 2 bids, takeout doubles, overcalls/advances, competitive auctions, plus review. Only interested in one or two topics? Individual classes are $15 each. Pre-registration for the series is required by Jan. 8 with a $20 non-refundable deposit, which will be applied to the tuition. Play of the Hand. Classes are on Monday mornings from 9 to 11 a.m. for seven weeks, Feb. 3 through March 24 (no class Feb. 24), in Activity Room A-7 in the Cottonwood Country Club in Sun Lakes. Tuition is $84 for the series plus a text, which you must order on your own. Learn to develop a plan: analyze the opening lead, review the bidding, count winners and losers, and how to put it together.
