On March 24, Fun Lakers Club will hold its annual Progressive Dinner. This year’s theme is Mardi Gras. It is a “members-only” event. Member hosts will open their homes for appetizers or dinner. The evening will begin with members meeting at the Cottonwood parking lot to receive their informational packets, including Host Home designations and driving directions. The first stop will be for appetizers in groups of no more than 16. Guests will then move to their second designation for dinner. This is a more intimate setting for groups of eight. The menu for the evening will be catered for the hosts’ homes by the Palo Verde restaurant. The evening will conclude with a Mardi Gras dessert and dancing at the Ironwood clubhouse. Entertainment will be provided by the Lynn Jackson duo.
The progressive dinner was a smashing success last year, and we look forward to an outstanding event this year, too. You won’t want to miss this special evening! The flyer and registration form have been sent out to all Fun Lakers Club members. You may also download the information from our website, www.funlakers.org. Please remember, it’s for club members only, so be sure to check out the website if you need to download the membership application, too. The cost for membership is $12.00 per person.
The next Fun Lakers/Sun Lakes Dance Party will be on March 22. Dances are held in the San Tan Ballroom at the Cottonwood Country Club. Entertainment for the evening will be Thaddeus Rose. There will be a no-host bar and appetizer menu available, as well as door prizes. Dance lessons begin at 6:30 p.m., with open dancing starting at 7:00 p.m. Cost at the door is $10.00 per person. No early registration is required for this event. There are also plans to extend the dance party season with an additional dance scheduled for April 17. We will keep you updated about this event.
Other activities planned for this spring include the Jimmy Buffett tribute concert at Oakwood on April 18. There will be an optional “Margarita” party before the show. On May 19, FLC will host a pool party, and on June 16, we are planning to see Sister Act at the Hale Theater. Please mark your calendars for these future dates.
