Welcome to September and the beginning of a new season of activities in and around the Sun Lakes and SunBird areas. With that in mind, the Fun Lakers Club has planned a calendar of events which will delight and entertain all of our club members and guests.
Fall events include an escape room evening in September, magic show at SunBird on October 20, chili for charity in November and our premiere event, the holiday dinner/dance on Saturday, December 15. As each event becomes available, all Fun Lakers members receive the event flyer and registration form by email. The information will also be posted on our website at www.funlakers.org.
One season-long event is our newly-formed Sun Lakes Dance Party, sponsored by the Fun Lakers Club. The cost for the 2018-2019 season is $50.00 per person. Tickets may also be purchased for each event separately. The cost at the door is $12.00 per person for a single dance. Dates for the dance party will be October 18, November 15, January 17, February 21, March 21 and April 11. The dances will be held at the Cottonwood San Tan Ballroom. Music will be provided by Thaddeus Rose. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., a dance lesson begins at 6:30 p.m. and open dancing will be from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m. The registration form for the full season is available on our website.
Fun Lakers also offers two additional season-long events. Mexican train takes place on Monday evenings and Euchre is held on Tuesday evenings. Both events are located in the Card Room (A-2) at Cottonwood from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. These are “no-cost” events and are open to members and nonmembers. Participants are asked to bring a snack or finger food to share during the evening.
The Fun Lakers Club is all about creating and fostering new and lasting friendships and, of course, having fun!
