The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program will again be open at Sun Lakes Country Club in the Mirror Room.

Both Federal and state returns will be filed electronically. If filing jointly, both spouses must sign the return.

Bring the following documents with you: Picture ID, Form SSA-1099 Social Security Benefit Statement (or social security card if you did not receive social security income), proof of all income such as 1099-R forms, W-2 forms and self-employment records if applicable.

If you want a refund to be directly deposited to your account, bring a blank check so your bank routing number and account number is available. Also bring prior year tax returns for federal and state if available.

The VITA site will be open on Mondays from 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. in the Mirror Room starting February 2.

Sign-up procedure: On the day you want your return prepared, you must sign-up at the Administration Services counter at Sun Lakes Country Club. It will be open at 8:00 a.m. on Mondays. The sign-ins are on a first-come, first-served basis and there are not advance reservations. There is a limit to the number of returns that can be prepared in the available time so sign-ups could be full on the day you want to sign-up.
