Celebrating together was great fun at the fall luncheon for members — new, seasoned and previous. Special congratulations to Ruth Newby for being the biggest loser of the half year, with a 24-pound loss. Losing a pound a week is a great achievement and probably the healthiest strategy for long-term loss. In this case Ruth gained $25 for that 24-pound loss. Now that’s a win-win.
Back to food. We all love the seasonal food and word is that we pile on over six pounds on average this season. Here at Golden Goalies we weighed in just before Thanksgiving and will do it again in early January. Amazingly, many Goalies do not gain weight during the season of sweet celebrations and potato delights. We demonstrate our success year after year. Let’s try to make it true this year too.
We urge you to follow our lead by weighing in the day you read this and then again one month later. Here is our challenge to you: keep that scale from climbing.
Join us for support, encouragement, shared wisdom and some good laughs. Weigh-in is between 7:00-7:45 a.m. in the Mirror Room of Sun Lakes Country Club. The meeting starts after weigh-in next door in the Friendship Room. Contact Rita at 895-2559 for more information.
