Got cookies? Bring them to the annual Cookie Walk

Linda K. Gercken

We know just the place where there will be thousands of homemade cookies, and the proceeds from your purchase will help people in need. It’s the annual Cookie Walk hosted by the Sun Lakes United Methodist Women (UMW)!

This popular annual event will be on Saturday, Dec. 7, in Lindsay Hall, with doors opening at 9 a.m., but come early to get the best selection from tables filled with scrumptious homemade cookies or candy.

For only $10, you will be given a carry-out box and a plastic glove to use while you make your personal selection of cookies, filling your box to the brim (you have to be able to close the lid). Then stop by the Candy Shop and pick up some bags of fudge, peanut brittle, or other holiday treats.

The cookies and candy will be a special treat for you and your family. Consider buying extra boxes as gifts for hostesses, friends, or neighbors. All proceeds of the Cookie Walk are donated to UMW mission projects, which include local, national, and international needs.

Sun Lakes United Methodist Church is located at 9248 E. Riggs Road (next to Robson Library). Parking is available in the east parking lot (follow the signs). We look forward to seeing you again this year. Come early to enjoy free coffee and broken cookies while you wait for the doors to open.
