GriefShare Begins at Sun Lakes United Methodist Church

Pastor David Holling

Sun Lakes United Methodist Church will once again hold a 13-week session of GriefShare beginning Wednesday, Jan. 20, from 1:30 to 3 p.m., in Room 1 of the Education Building at 9248 E. Riggs Road.

GriefShare is a nationally-recognized program designed to help people who have lost a loved one, and want to begin or continue their journey from mourning to joy. The program includes three key elements that work together and help participants recover from the deep hurt of loss: a video, group discussion, and a personal workbook ($15) for use between classes. Class members will discover how helpful it is to be around people who understand how you feel, will accept you where you are in your grief, and offer encouragement and support.

Each week offers a new topic, and the videos feature experts in the field of grief, healing, and recovery. As one person noted, “This program gives you hope and helps you cope with everything you are feeling.” If you want to move forward in your journey through grief, this program is for you.

You can reserve a space by calling the church at 480-895-8766. CDC guidelines will be observed, including masks for participants. We look forward to working with you beginning in January.
