Bill and Dee Preece
Bill and Dee Preece celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on July 19, 2014 at the Saguaro Room in Cottonwood with a dinner and party of family and friends. They built their first house in Sun Lakes in 1978 as a holiday home which then led them to build their current home in Cottonwood in 1992. Bill is a WWII veteran where he flew the P-38 and a Korean War veteran where he flew the B-25 and the B-29. He’s worked as an accountant for the State of California and had his own practice in Oregon where he enjoyed his love of the outdoors. He also sold real estate in Oregon and here in Sun Lakes. Dee was always by his side, working independently and in their accounting practice. They both have the love of tennis and golf so Sun Lakes has been a good fit. Their family came from seven states – California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Utah, Arizona and Maine and from overseas in Azerbijian. They not only celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary but birthdays of Bill turning 90 years old and Dee turning 88 years old. A fabulous night was had by all family and friends. A special thanks to the staff of Cottonwood; especially Tanya, the servers and the cook, as the food was simply delicious, providing us a grand evening of celebration.
Bob and Joann Butt will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary in Sun Lakes. They will also celebrate by taking their family on a cruise. They were married on October 10, 1964 in Joann’s hometown of Homer, Alaska. They raised their two children Jacqueline and Traci in Anchorage; now they have seven grandchildren.
Mom and Dad, thank you for the wonderful example you have set! We love you!
