Welcome to the first meeting of the new year! The Scandinavian Club welcomes all who have Scandinavian heritage or have an interest in Scandinavia. Come and join us on Sunday, Jan. 19, for our first meeting of 2025. We will be meeting in the Saguaro Room of Cottonwood Country Club.
The social hour begins at 5 p.m. with a smorgasbord of herring, sausage, and crackers and cheese, where friendly folks mix and get to know each other better. A cash bar is available. We eat dinner at 5:30 p.m., and the program begins at 6:15 p.m.
This year the meetings and programs for our club are being planned for our members to enjoy and also gain information and facts relating to Scandinavian culture. In January our president Don Hofstrand has invited Kate Adelman to present current relations and customs of Navajos and Scandinavians.
Make your reservations before Jan. 12 by taking or sending a check to Ron Deraas at 412 W. Champagne, Sun Lakes, AZ 85248. Make checks payable to Scandinavian Club for $25 per person. Indicate your choice of entrée. Choices are Swedish Meatballs with egg noodles or Chicken Cordon Bleu with mashed potatoes and gravy.
