Flag donation

Sun Lakes resident Ron Kurtzman donated an American flag belonging to his brother Bill who served in the US Navy during World War II; Ron, himself a veteran, served during the Korean War, and their father, William Kurtzman, served during World War I. The family has over 50 years of combined military service. The entire Sun Lakes Fire Department crew that were on duty that day, including the crew from Station Two, the Community Assistance Program crew and Deputy Chief Dan Guerra attended the Veteran’s Day ceremony as the flag was raised over Station One in honor of Bill Kurtzman and the entire family’s dedication and courage.
