IronOaks Tennis Club was the scene of a friendly rivalry with our Cottonwood neighbors as IronOaks hosted a Saturday mixer between the two clubs. With 100 players participating, half from each club, we enjoyed great tennis, along with breakfast, lunch and snacks for players and spectators. After playing 397 games within 30 sets, IronOaks came out ahead this time around. Special thanks go to Carmella and Mike Davin for handling the day’s arrangements.

Our Fall Social and Clinic, with the format of a clinic first followed by Mix ‘n Split play, was open to both members and outside players. It is a fun morning as you get the chance to immediately practice in a game setting what you were working on in the clinic. Look for the next one to be posted and join in with the group.

Josh Bates, our tennis pro, has been providing a Shot-of-the-Week clinic. It also is open to both members and outside players of all levels. E-mail [email protected] if you are interested in participating, or sign up at the Clubhouse bulletin board.

The USTA 3.5 Ladies team put in a great showing at the November USTA National Competition held in Surprise, after winning the September sectionals in  Albuquerque.
