Ironwood Lady Niners

Congratulations to the two ladies from our IWLN League who were winners in the State Medallion Tournament held at Oakwood Golf Course this year. We celebrate Mary Medved, who was low net winner, and Jacque Smith, low gross winner. Way to go, ladies! (Photo by Rachel Enloe)

November was a busy time, with many snowbirds returning to the warmer temperatures of Arizona. The league started off the month with a general meeting to get everyone up to speed with all the changes and new information. Executive reports were given, and info regarding sign-up for the AGA, ringers, using our website, invitational tournaments, and the State Medallion Tournament was shared. Discussion about this year’s Holiday Party, to be held on Dec. 4, included a theme of “Ugly Christmas Sweaters” and prizes for the ugliest sweater. It will be a brunch held in the Oakwood ballroom following our golf, and the menu will be French dip, Caesar salad, and cheesecake for dessert, with a total cost of $25. This year, a fundraiser will be running from January through mid-February to raise money for My Sister’s Place, with the IWLN League matching donations up to $500.

Anyone wanting to join a golf league this winter, please consider IWLN, where our motto is “Golfers of all levels are welcome!” We are a friendly bunch, love to have a good time, and play a little golf, too.

Remember, nothing straightens a nasty slice like a sharp dogleg to the right. Enjoy your golf!
