In addition to the Executive Board, the Ironwood Lady Niners League has standing committees that give their time and expertise to make our club so successful and fun. 2017 Standing Committee Members are: Pairings/Games: Linda Liberti and Barb Sletto; Scoring: Deb Burns; Handicaps: Dottie Meade; Membership: Janis Gustafson; Orientation: Judy Frink; Communications: Nancy Davis; AWGA Representative/Ringers: Deborah Poropat; Luncheon: Barb Johnston and Rosemary Steinfest; Outside Invitationals: Kay Blas; IWLN Invitational: Judy Thompson and Vicki Mendenhall; and Webmaster: Ann Gavin. Thank you very much, ladies – you all are the “magic wand” that makes our league successful. Our IWLN is very fortunate to have such wonderful volunteers who work hard to keep our league running smoothly.

On March 8, President Denise Fleshner conducted our general meeting. Deborah Poropat presented the November/December 2016 segment of the Ringer Awards to the following ladies (the number in parenthesis is their improvement): Flight 1: Linda Liberti (5), Darla McCracken (1); Flight 2: Susan Meer (22), Bettie Farr (9), Margaret Johns (7); Flight 3: Judy Thompson (12), Dianne Severa (11), Jeanine Krause (2); Flight 4: Eileen Moberg (6). Congratulations, Ladies!

Also at the March 8 meeting, Kevin Marugame, Golf Manager, provided a golf rules and golf etiquette refresher for the group. Kevin’s presentation and topics were very timely and articulate with fun splashes of humor added for good measure. Thank you, Kevin.

Upcoming April Events: April 5 at 10:00 a.m. is our next board meeting. April 12 at 9:00 a.m. (yes, 9:00 a.m.) is our last general meeting, awards presentations and brunch until fall. Please plan on attending our all-hands get-together before our summer travelers take to the highways in search of cooler climates. Your check will be your brunch reservation.

Membership: We give a big welcome to new member Ginger Wilson and a big welcome back to Donna Cook and Katie Watson. Please note, the IWLN now has “Golf Buddies” where each new member is offered a seasoned IWLN member to assist her in becoming familiar with the league.
