January rains beneficial to Metal Lokators

Virginia Koehler

The January rains were very beneficial to the Metal Lokators Club members. It helped soften up the hard Arizona ground which made digging out the treasures easier. Several members went to a park in a nearby town in January and had an enjoyable day hunting coins and socializing afterwards.

February 8 is the date of the Metal Lokators’ mini hunt. Our monthly meeting will be held at Arrowhead Park where members will tune up their metal detectors in preparation for our big hunt in March.

At January’s meeting it was decided the club would participate in the flea market sales in February. Club members are encouraged to start collecting their items they want to donate to the club for the sale on February 20.

The Sun Lakes Metal Lokators Club meets the second Monday of every month October through April. Dues are $15 per person per year. Most meetings are held at 1:00 p.m. in the Friendship Room of the Sun Lakes Country Club. Everyone is welcome to join us to see if this is an activity you would like to do.

If you have no metal detector and would like to try one out, you may come to one of our monthly hunts and use the club’s detector.

Anyone having lost a metal object of value to them is welcome to contact the Lokators Club and have our members search for your item. Contact our club Treasurer Virginia Koehler at 480-883-9672.
