Tired of walking alone? Looking for a new way to motivate yourself and others to get moving?

Join Walk with a Doc on Saturday, January 12, 2019.

Your very own Sun Lakes Walk with a Doc chapter is a good way to expand your horizons – and help many others improve their heart health.

Chances are you don’t live to exercise. For many people, exercise is a way to maintain or improve their quality of life. Walk down the path to wellbeing, whether your goal is to stay fit and independent or to recover from acute or chronic issues. Discover how outdoor walking with friends engages the mind differently than traditional exercises.

Our mission encourages healthy physical activity in people of all ages, reversing the consequences of a sedentary lifestyle in order to improve the health and wellbeing of the country. We do this by Movement, aka Walking and Conversation.

Walk with a Doc is a non-profit organization dedicated to encouraging healthy physical activity in people of all ages. Medical professionals from Chandler Regional Hospital meet with members of the Sun Lakes community for a walk at Cottonwood’s Five Lakes. Participants are encouraged to speak with doctors and healthcare personnel in this non-threatening environment.

Our walkers come from a variety of life challenges:

• Young

• Not so young

• Fit

• New to exercise

• Mobility challenge (canes, walkers, scooters, using oxygen)

We welcome grandchildren and well-mannered dogs. And our walks are always FREE.

Mark your calendars: January 12, 2019, at the Cottonwood greenbelt by our Five Lakes.

This event is open to all Sun Lakes communities. Register for the walk at our website and learn more about Dr. Hu.

Plan to attend our Dutch treat healthy breakfast in the Cottonwood patio and participate in raffle. News Flash – for this special occasion, walkers’ dogs are allowed on the patio. Thank you, Chef Marshall.
