Chapter Commander Leon “Skip” Johnson

Our Chapter Commander would like to extend his thanks and appreciation for all the support you all provided to our organization over the past year, and also for your understanding on how we are somewhat limited on the services we normally provide on a regular basis, during normal times. With the current virus situation still being a major concern for all of us, it is in our current best interest to proceed with caution on how we do business in a manner that considers the risk potential of exposure on the services we are able to provide at present. Due to the current situation, as it  pertains to the safety of all, we are still feeling uncomfortable enough to not consider resuming our normal activities, such as monthly meetings, as well as participating in other major events that are held rather frequently in normal times. Any changes regarding this will be passed on to all the membership in a timely fashion.

We are a service organization, and regardless of the present environment, accidents do happen, and our organization is dedicated to provide help and support in the best manner possible when needed. Our doors are never closed to those who need help, and we are only a phone call away. Although our major activities presently are on “hold,” in times of need, we are always available and maintain an inventory in our storage facility of basic medical equipment like wheelchairs and crutches, and also on hand are some well-maintained electric scooters for those who may need that sort of assistance.

Hopefully, this current epidemic will come to an end in the not-too-distant future. The organization is constantly monitoring progress, and whenever something major changes, the membership will be notified in its normal method of communicating. There still is a group that meets on a weekly basis for lunch at one of the local restaurants. For additional information on this or any other concerns, please feel free to call Leon “Skip” Johnson. He can be reached at 970-481-3005. For attending the lunches, reservations are not requested but are favored, due to the social distancing that restaurants have to adhere to.
