The Oakwood Lady Niners Golf League (OLNGA) invites you to play golf with us this summer. Tee times during summer months are early to beat the heat. We have tee times between 6:30 and 7:30 a.m. every Tuesday morning. If you are looking for a nine-hole golf league in the Sun Lakes area, this is a great opportunity to get to know some of the ladies of OLNGA—we’re a friendly bunch—and become familiar with the Oakwood golf course.

At Oakwood, we play on three different nines of varying difficulty. While the Oakwood golf course has a reputation for being too difficult for some, ladies have a choice of two tee boxes from which to play. The forward silver tee boxes take most of the trouble out of the course, and the yellow tee box is for those mid to lower handicappers who appreciate a challenge. In the summer, you can play from one tee box one week and the other on a different week. In that way, when you become a member, you’ll be able to sign up to play from the tee box that best suits your game.

This is the first time in many years that OLNGA has eliminated the limitation on guest participation for the summer months. We want to get to know you!

When: Tuesday mornings, June through September, 2020

Cost: No league fee, just the Pro Shop green fee

How: By invitation only. If you don’t know anyone in our league who can invite you, just call and we can be instant pals! Ask for Judy at 480-313-8998 or Kathy at 480-209-6647.

When: Reservations must be made at least four days before any Tuesday when you’d like to play.

Rules: OLNGA summer play is for socializing and practicing. We don’t track your score, and there are no prizes during summer play. You are encouraged to post your own score on GHIN if you maintain a handicap and you play a legitimate round. Not interested in posting a score? By all means, kick that ball out from behind that annoying tree, take a whiff or two, and/or take a gimme on the green if you feel like it. Have fun!

Guest participation is on a space-available basis due to our limited number of tee times and subject to course restrictions for summer maintenance. The Oakwood golf course has instituted recommended safety protocols during the pandemic. At this time, and subject to change, that means no drinking water on the course; social distancing observed in the cart area, Pro Shop, and on the course during play; no rakes in bunkers. Players may ride alone in a cart if they so choose. If you don’t have a cart, you can rent one at the Pro Shop.

We look forward to meeting you!
