Laughter Is the Best Medicine

Bill Becker, SLCT Publicity

Are you up for trying something new and different? Sun Lakes Community Theatre is planning a new and different kind of comedy and theatre experience, called Laughter Is the Best Medicine. There will be three different one-act plays filled with lots of laughs and situations that we seniors can relate to.

Hot Pursuit—A play that involves a single man visiting his sister in an active adult community! Bet you can figure out the rest!

Naked Man on the Couch—Well, there he is asleep, naked on the couch when the three senior residents find him in their apartment, much to their surprise. Great dialogue!

Mother’s Day—A great play about interactions and communication between mothers and their children. A fun ending for sure!

Also, Mother’s Day is May 10, the last day of the show. This would be a great event to share with your mother or your children.

Details: The show runs May 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 in the Navajo Room of Sun Lakes Country Club. It starts with Happy Hour from 4 to 5 p.m. Cocktails will be available at the bar, and ticket price includes appetizers. The show starts at 5 p.m. and will finish at approximately 6:30 p.m. Only 60 tickets will be sold per night; tickets are $20 per person for both appetizers and the show. It will be a very intimate evening with only four people at each table. All good seats, up close to the actors, so get your tickets early for this seniors-oriented comedy show.

Tickets will be on sale starting on April 13 at www.slctinfo.com and also at our “live box offices” from 10 a.m. to noon in the Sun Lakes Country Club lobby on Tuesdays (April 21 and 28), in the Cottonwood Room A-3 from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesdays (April 22 and 29), and in the Oakwood lobby from 10 a.m. to noon on Thursdays (April 23 and 30).
